Hiking

There are many options for great hikes in wild nature in the area around our base camp. The unique Swedish right of access gives you the freedom to spend time in the forest and pick both berries and mushrooms.

Here you will find a rich bird and animal life and if you are in luck you will see both elk, deer and birds of prey. 

The Östgöta trail, which is a part of a system of hiking trails throughout Sweden, passes by our base camp. The trail is easy hiking.  www.ostgotaleden.se

The Glottern forest Nature Reserve starts approximately 2 km from our base camp. Here you will find wild and old forest nature with approximately 5 kilometers of walking trails and a rest stop with fireplace beside the lake.

Many charcoal stacks were built in these forest in the 1700 and 1800's. The charocal workers lived in 'coaler cabins'. One such cabin has been built up in the reserve and there is even one close by our base camp. Why not take the chance to spend the night in one of these cabins like in the 1700's?

There are several Nature reserves within 10 minutes drive of the base camp, for example Bärsjö forest and Rödgölens Nature Reserves.
